Mammoth Digital Growing Again

Hopefully, by now,  I don't have to tell you about Mammoth. You can find that out yourself I'm sure. But what you may not know is that we have a long serving digital offering here that we have intelligently, but subtly branded - Mammoth Digital.

The Mammoth Digital team are a specialised team of experienced creatives headed up by Andrew McCrea and myself, and we're very excited to be driving this side of the company and doing some pretty cool work for our clients. This month we're up for a DANI award (which we'll update you about in another post shortly) for our work with Boojum, but it tells us we're doing something right.

Right now, we're exceptionally busy. So as a result, we're looking for a junior digital designer. The most important thing for us is that we find the right person, but I feel that to do that I should give you some 'thought' points for applying for the position. So here we are:

  1. Show your passion. We're looking for a digital designer, not a developer, not an illustrator, a designer who has a passion for web and multimedia, and believes that design lives and breathes through these mediums.
  2. Don't be afraid of your portfolio. We don't mind if in the last 6 months all you've done is take instagram photos. We want to see that you are creative, passionate and have a personality.
  3. Have a personality. This job isn't just designing web sites. Its communicating with students, scientists, bankers, parents - and to do that you need to know how to grab their interest.
  4. If you don't know the answer, just say. If you can't use flash or HTML5, just tell us. It's ok. If you're doing everything else right, we still will consider you for the job, and train you up if needs be. Its a junior position!
  5. Learn about Mammoth. Ask yourself if this is where you want to be. Some people are so desperate for a job they'll apply for anything and waste their time and ours. So learn about us, our clients, our work and ethic, and then decide if this is for you.
  6. Be creative. Its simple to say, but I can't reiterate enough that this is a creative position, and technical ability will be counted, but second.

I hope this helps you understand where we are coming from. It's so important to us that we grow this team with the right people. If you have questions you can email us or even tweet us.

Good luck

Mike Williams
Creative Digital Director
